Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has slammed the baseless rumours about the health of India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, who recently underwent a successful emergency coronary angioplasty.




Days after legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev underwent a successful emergency coronary angioplasty, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has slammed the baseless rumours about the health of India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain. Lal, who had the privilege to enjoy Kapil's leadership during his playing days shares a good camaraderie with the legendary cricketer. The retired Indian cricketer has addressed the speculations about Kapil's health on social media. 


Taking to Twitter, Lal termed the baseless rumours surrounding the health of Kapil as 'Insensitive' and 'Irresponsible'. Rubbishing the unverified reports about Kapil, Lal launched a tirade against the perpetrators and stated that his good friend and former Team Indian skipper is on the path to recovery. Lal revealed that Kapil is getting better each day and the retired cricketer also requested his well-wishers and fans to give the family of his friend some privacy during these unprecedented times. 


Speculation on a colleagues health and well being is insensitive and irresponsible. Our friend, Kapil Dev is on the path to recovery and getting better each day. At a time where the family has been through stress owing to his hospitalization, please let us be sensitive," Lal reportedly tweeted from his Twitter handle on Monday.
